Jung not in mood to work today: AAP hits back at L-G

AAP ministers Satyendar Jain and Kapil Mishra on Saturday went to meet Lt Governor Najeeb Jung at his office following his fax to Deputy CM Manish Sisodia to return from Finland, but the meeting did not materialise as Jung was not in his office, triggering a fresh spat between the two sides.

“It appears he is not in a mood to work today,” Mishra said taking a jibe at Jung. But the LG office retorted that it was operational on all seven days of the week and the ministers did not seek prior appointment even as it accused the AAP government of politicising the issue when the city was grappling with a health crisis.

'Lt Governor Doesn't Want To Work On Weekend': AAP Hits Back Amid Health Crisis In Delhi

Kapil Mishra, who along with Health Minister Satyendar Jain had gone to Mr Jung's office this morning, said: "We went to Lt Governor's office today since he sent an urgent fax last night to Manish Sisodia, but he wasn't there as he doesn't work on weekends. We called him too... he's not working today and he doesn't want to talk about work

Health Minister also attacked Mr Jung today in the latest episode of an ongoing tussle between the centre, represented by the L-G, and the Aam Aadmi Party government of Arvind Kejriwal. "The L-G should call me, I am health minister, not the Dy CM....Why can't the L-G go with me to the hospitals meet patients,"Mr Jain said.

Delhi: LG Najeeb Jung asks Deputy CM Manish Sisodia to come back from Finland

Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung Friday asked Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, who is in Finland on an official tour, to return to Delhi, said officials in the LG’s office. Jung asked the minister to return in view of the chikungunya and dengue outbreak in the capital, said Raj Niwas officials. However, Delhi government officials said the Deputy CM’s office had not received any communication from the LG’s office.

Government officials also contacted Sisodia, who is currently in Finland’s capital Helsinki, to check whether he had received any communication from Raj Niwas, said sources. “We were told that neither the Deputy Chief Minister nor the Indian Embassy in Helsinki had received any order or communication from the Lt Governor’s office, asking him to come back,” government sources told The Indian Express.

“In any case, he was scheduled to return on Sunday, September 18,” said a government official. Opposition parties had earlier claimed that the minister was “holidaying” in Finland while the capital was facing a health crisis.
