Will soon apply for asylum in India: Baloch leader Bugti

Baloch leader Brahumdagh Bugti has initiated the move to seek political asylum in India, a spokesperson of the Baloch Republican Party told The Hindu over phone from Geneva. Mr. Bugti’s decision to seek asylum in India follows a meeting of his party Baloch Republican Party (BRP), where the decision to shift to India was examined and cleared.

“Baloch Republican Party’s Central Committee has ratified Mr. Bugti’s decision to seek political asylum in India. At the moment, we are concerned about the safety of the president of the party and that is why the decision for political asylum was cleared. We have not yet decided who all will accompany him on his journey to India, but that is up to him decide and the party will volunteer members to accompany him to India as the need arises,” said Azizullah Bugti, a spokesperson of the BRP.

Brahamdagh Bugti to appeal for political asylum in India

Baloch Republican Party (BRP) founder Brahamdagh Bugti on Monday announced that he would appeal for a political asylum in India.

Bugti said that the decision was taken in his party's central committee meeting.


"The meeting of our central committee ended today. And in the meeting the members of the central committee have decided with majority that I will appeal for a political asylum in India," Bugti told ANI.

Bugti said that the he would seek an appointment with the Indian embassy in Geneva.

Mobile app, website for All India Radio’s Baluchi service launched

Baluchi-speaking people in the Af-Pak region and other parts of the world can now tune into AIR broadcast in the language through computers and mobile phones as India’s public broadcaster today launched multimedia webpage and mobile app of the service.
Prasar Bharati Chairperson A Surya Prakash, who launched the mobile app and the webpage, said the move is part of India’s efforts to reach out to the neighbourhood for better people-to-people contact. The move to launch AIR’s digital platforms in Baluchi came after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Independence Day speech in which he had brought up the issue of Pakistani atrocities on the people of Balochistan and PoK.

Pathankot attack: US gives new information on Pakistan hand

NEW DELHI: Even as the NIA is examining the option of filing a chargesheet against Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar in the Pathankot terror attack case, the US has handed over proof+ confirming that the strike emanated from Pakistan.


The US has informed the NIA that IP addresses of Facebook accounts of JeM handlers who masterminded the January attack and IP address of the website of the outfit's financial arm, Al Rahmat Trust, are located in Pakistan. The probe revealed that FB groups accessed by friends of JeM handler Kashif Jaan were related to jihad and JeM and contained photos of the four killed terrorists - Nasir Hussain, Hafiz Abu Bakar, Umar Farooq and Abdul Qayum.

At the time of the attack, the webpage of Al Rahmat Trust was uploaded on rangonoor.com and alqalamonline.com, which are administrated by one Tariq Siddiqui with a common email for both sites, and its address is in Rafah-e-Aam Society in Malir, Karachi. "The US has confirmed that all these websites and IP addresses originated in Pakistan and these were uploaded around the time of the Pathankot attack+ ," an official said.


It was found that Jaan was using a FB account connected to the same mobile number which the attackers called from Pathankot after abducting Punjab police SP Salwinder Singh. The terrorists had also called another number in Pakistan connected to the FB account of "Mulla Daadullah". These accounts were accessed around the time of the attack using IP addresses of Pakistan-based telecom firms (Telenor and Pakistan TeleCommunications Company Ltd).

Loud explosion near Al Khair hospital in Quetta, six injured

ISLAMABAD: A loud explosion on Thursday was heard near Al Khair Hospital in Paksitan's Quetta.

According to local media reports, at least six people have been injured in the explosion.

Security forces have reached the explosion site.


On August 8, a suicide bomber had attacked a hospital in Quetta+ killing over 70 people.


Quetta is the capital of Pakistan's Balochistan province.

Balochistan is no stranger to violence, with separatist fighters launching regular attacks on security forces for nearly a decade and the military striking back.


Islamist militants, particularly sectarian groups, have also launched a campaign of suicide bombings and assassinations of minority Shias.
