All 41 accused in Kollam temple firework accident case get bail

 The Kerala High Court on Monday granted bail to all the 41 accused in the Puttingal Devi temple fireworks tragedy that claimed 109 lives.

Granting the bail, Justice P. Ubaid asked the accused to surrender their passports to the police and not to leave the State.

The court observed that the police have not yet filed a charge sheet in the case. It has been 91 days since the accident happened. It is mandatory to file charge sheet in 90 days.

The accused include 15 managing committee members of the temple, fireworks contractor and his workers. The accused were charged under Section 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) of the IPC.
